Most Richmond golfers wait until April to think about new clubs. By then they've already played a few rounds, gotten frustrated with what isn't working, and rushed into a purchase. We see it every spring.
The better play is to come in during January or February. Here's why.
The fitting calendar is open.
From November through February we have time. April through July, we're booked out two weeks ahead. If you want a long, careful fitting with the right amount of attention, off-season is when you'll actually get it.
Custom builds take three to six weeks.
If you want your new clubs ready for the spring season, the math means starting in winter. Ordering in April means you might not have them until late May. By then you've missed the early part of the season you were trying to play with them.
“If you have new clubs in your plan for 2026, December through February is the time.”
Demo days are slower.
Manufacturer reps still come out in the winter. Their fitting carts are full, their attention is focused, and the line is shorter. Better fitting experience overall.
Bogey's stays open.
The range at Bogey's Sports Park is year-round. We do outdoor fittings in 40-degree weather all the time. You'll wear a jacket. The ball flight is the same.
Prices on prior-year models drop.
January-February is when last year's flagship gets discounted. If your fitter recommends a head from last cycle (and many do. Last year's gear is often functionally identical to this year's), you save real money.
If you have new clubs in your plan for 2026, December through February is the time. Call 804.784.6070 to get on the calendar.
