Outdoor Fitting
Outdoor Club Fitting in Richmond at Bogey's Sports Park
Outdoor club fitting on real grass at Bogey's Sports Park. Real ball flight, real conditions, real Virginia weather. The way every manufacturer prefers their clubs be fit.
There is a cardinal rule of club fitting that most golfers ignore: never buy a set of clubs without hitting balls outside, in conditions that let you see the direction and trajectory.
Indoor nets, coupled with launch monitors, are useful tools. But golf is not played in a laboratory. To gain a realistic sense of how a club performs, you need to take the measuring devices outside. onto grass, into wind, against a sky you can see the ball against.
That's the entire reason Mulligan's is at Bogey's Sports Park. We fit clubs the way the manufacturers prefer their clubs be fit. Outside, on a real range, with the Trackman launch monitor capturing the data behind the swings you actually trust.
Common questions
Before you book.
Why is outdoor fitting better than indoor?
Indoor nets give you launch monitor data without the visual confirmation of actual ball flight. You don't see the curve, you don't see where the ball lands, you don't feel the contact off real grass. Outdoor fitting gives you both. Trackman data AND your own eyes confirming what's happening. That combination produces a better outcome.
What if the weather is bad?
Bogey's Sports Park is open year-round. Light rain doesn't stop us. Snow and severe weather might. Call before you come if you're unsure. 804.784.6070.
Is there indoor option if I prefer?
We can run launch monitor sessions inside the shop in a pinch, but we strongly recommend outdoor fitting. The whole reason Mulligan's exists in this location is so we can fit clubs the right way.
